Without foster carers, herd2homes cannot save working breed dogs.

If you have experience with or are willing to be coached about caring for working breed dogs please consider fostering. Foster carers provide:

  • Good quality dog food
  • Training & rehabilitation
  • Comfortable bedding (inside or out)
  • Socialisation
  • Mental stimulation
  • Physical exercise
  • A fenced or secure yard
  • Recovery support after desexing or surgery, and
  • Hugs and love.

In return you receive all the love, devotion and loyalty only working breed dogs can offer.  By becoming a foster carer, you will change the life of a dog and an adopting family forever, for each dog you care for and rehome.

We value our volunteers above all else. We truly understand and believe that a rescue is nothing without its volunteers.  At Herd2homes we provide all the support and resources we can to our carers, and our entire network of volunteers, known as the amazing Team H2H, are a fantastic bunch of positive, passionate and dedicated people who help to make everything happen.

If you think you would be a good fit for the team, and would like to speak with someone about foster caring or volunteering, please fill in the below form or email to apply!

Steve and Peri both volunteer their time to fostering dogs and puppies in need, as well as transporting dogs in need to safety.
We endeavour to match our foster dogs to the most suitable carers (considering carers permanent dogs needs and temperament, cats etc). While all care and measures are taken to understand particular dogs coming in to care, we can never guarantee certain traits or behaviours with dogs coming from pounds, shelters and farms with various backgrounds and life experiences.
